When the new owners moved in, the dated kitchen had a cave-like quality. All cabinets were dark cherry, the countertops were black, and the backsplash was a dark green. As a result, lights had to be left on all day, and the room was far from uplifting.

 

The client wanted to lighten up the space, and we achieved that by considering color, materials, lighting and sightlines.
